“Super host with a super house. Martin was very responsive before and during our stay and provided lots of information on things to do and places to see, not to mention the very generous welcome pack on arrival. The gite has everything you could possibly need (and more besides), is immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. We had a fabulous two week stay and would recommend without hesitation, both Martin and his gite....you won't be disappointed!”

"Very good accommodation, I would recommend".

"A wonderful house to explore the area from, parking was not challenging and local amenities a short walk away. This house is tastefully decorated in a simple style sympathetic to the age of the property but not compromising on modern comforts. Clean, comfortable, well equipped with good quality furniture, linens, towels, kitchen appliances cooking and dinnerware. Every need you may have has been considered and taken care of. Wonderful host nothing too much trouble. We will be back!"

"A good location in heart of village"

"The house was excellent, well equipped, comfortable and beautifully maintained. A friendly welcome and a generous welcome pack. Martin & Al were on hand if needed with plenty of local knowledge. A handy location for visits to the coast, the mountains, Canal Du Midi, Carcassonne etc. Lovely weather, we had a great week".

"Beautiful well equipped house in great location"

"We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful, old stone house, full of French character. Martin provided an extremely generous welcome pack on our arrival and was helpful throughout our stay. The house was very well equipped, clean and comfortable, having everything that we needed to enjoy our stay. The location is great, having a choice of boulangeries a short walk away, as well as other shops, cafes and restaurants. The weekly market in Olonzac was also amazing. There is so much to see and do in the surrounding area and we would love to return".

"Exceptional accommodation in a typical French village in an interesting historic area"

"Very tastefully decorated and comfortable gite with everything supplied to make your stay like being at home, away from home. The welcome pack was more than expected and the information book very helpful, with tips and pamphlets of places to go and see in the area. Our hosts were lovely, very friendly and welcoming and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Stone House Gite to anyone. Two very minor drawbacks; the first was trying to find the gite in amongst the tiny lanes and the second was the rather scary (at first) staircase, but both were soon overcome and did not mar our stay at all.

“Delightful”
"Very clean and well appointed village house ...lovely 'welcome goodies' on arrival, parking right outside the front door. No outdoor space as such, but a small inner courtyard with table and chairs for al fresco eating if wanted. Extremely comfortable beds, nice linen and towels. Toiletries supplied in the bathroom. Kitchen small 'but perfectly formed' and everything one needed for cooking.
Olonzac is a quiet village (at least in May) but an ideal place for visiting the Minervois region and many charming towns, the Canal du Midi flows close by. We particularly liked Narbonne and of course Carcassonne and would visit Pezanas again if we could. "

The weather at the beginning of our stay, but nice log burner to warm and cheer us! The weather got much better.

"Set in the main square in the old town centre, this is a true find! Appointments are of a very high standard with many unexpected little touches. Martin has clearly taken time to review what might be required to lift the house above the mainstream to make their guests' stay more comfortable and memorable and has achieved his objective. Very comfortable lounge area, delightful bedrooms, and well equipped kitchen".

"Central in medieval village but so peaceful!"

"We spent 5 days at this lovely old house right in the middle of Olonzac. Parking was easy as it's opposite the Mairie! The house itself is beautifully decorated and beyond comfortable. Perfectly equipped kitchen, comfy sofas and beds and nice secluded outdoor space too. Perfect. Martin, the host, could not have been more helpful or available when needed and he provides an incredibly generous starter pack too. We highly recommend"

"We have just returned from a 10 day stay at this traditional town house which has been lovingly renovated by the owners. The house is very comfortable and well equipped with everything you need and more, especially the very generous welcome pack! It is located on the town square right in the middle of this typically French small town within a short walk to various restaurants and bars. We felt very much at home and well looked after by the owners in case we needed any advice or information. A perfect stay!"

"This property is centrally situated (opposite the Mairie!) in a perfect Medieval French village with all amenities very close but is really quiet too. The house itself is very comfortable and tastefully equipped with high-quality kitchen and kitchen appliances. There is a log burner in the living room if necessary but a small heater worked incredibly well on our one chilly day. Outside is a small sheltered courtyard with table and chairs and a new barbecue. The bedrooms are really lovely! Comfortable beds and armchairs too for a quiet read. Excellent shower - we didn't use the bath as this was on the second floor and we stayed on the first. We must mention the welcome pack which the owner left in the fridge - outstanding! Everything you might need for a late arrival plus some lovely extras including local wine. We highly recommend for a quiet getaway surrounded by beautiful countryside, great bars in the town, excellent restaurants in the town or 5 mins by car on the Canal du Midi. The weekly market which occupies most of the town is very impressive - luckily the house is so close to a parking area that its simpler to walk into the markets!"

"We just made our first (and certainly not our last visit) to this gem of a gite in the the heart of Olonzac - a delightful small town in south west France. It is by far the most thoughtful property we have ever stayed in; from the stylish decor to the generous welcome pack and the friendliness of the owners, it ticks every box. The property is spacious and well located for the many attractions of the region with a high standard of fixtures and fittings. Definitely worth checking this place out if you're planning to visit south west France"

"En français, on distingue la notion d'"hôte" de celle d'"invité" quand en anglais, on utilise le même mot, "guest". Dans ce gîte cosy et chaleureux, joliment rénové avec beaucoup de goût et d'inventivité, nous avons vraiment eu le sentiment d'être les invités de Martin, qui nous a accueillis avec infiniment de gentillesse et de prévenance. Qu'il en soit sincèrement remercié.

Nous recommandons sans réserve."

"Expect a quality stay at this rental property. We were impressed by the attention to detail from the host as well as the focus on quality, as opposed to IKEA-style, products used throughout. The kitchen is especially well-equipped allowing you make what you want. Both bedrooms are roomy and offer great views across the town hall square. The courtyard at the rear offers an intimate dining area with bbq should you wish to cook outside. If you want a night in, the lounge has two good sofas, a large flat screen TV as well as an assortment of new games to play! Parking is opposite the property. Have to say this is one of the best rental properties that I've ever stayed in and I'd be happy to recommend both it and the host."

"Home away from home. Best place we've stayed at in France

Just got home from France and we already miss this fantastic Gite. Lots of room and so cozy. Incredible place in the heart of an incredible town. Had everything we could possibly need and rooms were quite large compared to other places we have stayed. We have done everything from old town apartments to fancy hotels in France, and this one was the best. Definitely plan on going back. Hosts were incredible as well, leaving brochures for us on all sites around the south. They were quick to answer any questions we had, and help us with incredible suggestions. Highly recommend you give this place a try".

"Une petite maison commode et pratique, très joliment arrangée, dans un petit village très vivant. Nous avons traversé la canicule sans encombre grâce à la climatisation efficace. Olonzac est très bien placé pour rayonner dans la région. Sortir de la maison pour se retrouver dans le marché (le mardi) au milieu des melons, des tomattes et des courgettes, m'a rappelé mon enfance. Sincèrement merci à Martin pour son accueil attentionné. Nous espérons pouvoir revenir."

"A small house convenient and practical, very nicely arranged, in a small village very lively. We went through the heat wave without any hassle thanks to the efficient air conditioning. Olonzac is very well placed to radiate in the region. Leaving the house to meet in the market (on Tuesday) amid melons, tomatoes and courgettes, reminded me of my childhood. Sincerely thanks to Martin for his kind attention. We hope to be back".

"This traditional, village-centre gite is spacious, well-appointed and comfortable. The galley-style kitchen has all new equipment; the living room sofas are nice and comfortable and there is a large flat-screen TV with Freesat, plus a decent music system. The bedrooms are spacious, fresh and clean, with generous wardrobe space and quiet air-con units. The tight spiral staircase might be a bit tricky for the less nimble.
